Terms and Conditions

These Terms govern your use of SustainaFinance (the "platform"), accessible at sustainafinancedata.com. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. About SustainaFinance

SustainaFinance is a free database of economic, financial and sustainability data for African markets, built for students, researchers, lecturers and educators across the continent. The platform currently covers the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), with additional African markets being added as the dataset grows. The service is operated by the SustainaFinance team and is currently provided at no charge.

2. Who may use the platform

You may use SustainaFinance if you are at least 16 years old and provide accurate registration information. By signing up you confirm that the name, role, institution and email you provide are truthful.

3. Permitted use

You may search, view and download data on SustainaFinance for the following purposes:

• Personal learning and study.
• Academic research and teaching.
• Non-commercial reporting or analysis, with attribution to "SustainaFinance" and a link to sustainafinancedata.com when you publish.

4. Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Scrape, mirror or republish the dataset in bulk without our prior written permission.
• Use automated tools that place an unreasonable load on the service or interfere with other users' access.
• Resell or commercialise SustainaFinance data without a separate written agreement.
• Misrepresent your identity, role or institution when registering.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, other accounts, or our underlying systems.

5. Data accuracy and "as-is" service

SustainaFinance aggregates and standardises data from public filings, exchanges and third-party sources. We work hard to keep figures correct and internally consistent, but the data may contain errors, omissions, revisions or scale ambiguities. Nothing on SustainaFinance is investment, legal or financial advice. Always verify any figure against the original source before relying on it for a financial decision.

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or any specific level of performance, and we may add, change or remove features at any time.

6. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Tell us immediately at sustainafinancedatanexus@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. You may delete your account at any time by emailing us at the same address.

7. Privacy and the information we hold about you

When you register, we store the following in our authentication database (Supabase): your name, role, institution, email, the time you accepted these Terms, and whether you opted in to dataset-update emails. We use these details only to:

• Understand who is using the platform and improve it;
• Authenticate you when you log in and recover access if you forget your password;
• Email you about new datasets or major platform changes if you ticked the optional notification box at signup (you can opt out anytime by emailing us).

We do not sell or share your details with third parties. You may request a copy or deletion of your account data at any time.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms, with or without prior notice. You may stop using the platform and delete your account at any time.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SustainaFinance and its team are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform or the data.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at sustainafinancedata.com/terms.html with the effective date at the top. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
